What's Under Foot

Following on from the Print block, I want to take a look at patterned flooring. Image shows how you can create your own designs using a stencil, or again the print block. One of my favourite materials is concrete. Shown here a smooth flooring. I love concrete and it is far far more versatile than people realise. Kitchen work tops, and baths for example. Sleek, contemporary, modern but can also be warm, inviting and anything but boring or bland. Of course concrete is not unknown in the architectural world. Think of the textured blocks that made the "Ennis" house in LA so magnificent. 1 of about 4 of Frank Lloyd Wright's architectural splendours, and which was used as Harrison Ford's apartment in the film Blade Runner.
